Dre Abeita, soon-to-be Dr. Dre, Coyote walking in this world, two-spirited warrior and real-life Isleta Pueblo superhero is an Indigenous, queer, multiple-trauma survivor diagnosed with panic attacks, depression, anxiety PTSD, ADHD, and OCPD, who is also a medical marijuana researcher, professional civil rights advocate and critical race theory (CRT), whiteness, and intersectional activist/scholar. Dre is currently a 11th year doctoral candidate in the Language, Literacy, & Sociocultural Studies Department at the University of New Mexico. Additionally, Dre is the CEO and founder of the Abeita Consulting Group, LLC., the co-founder of the Abeita-Sherer Community Foundation, pastor of Coyote’s Lodge: House of Spirituality, Critical Race Theory, and Medical Marijuana, creator, producer and co-host of REZilientNM, and creator, producer, and co-host of DivergentNM.


 Dre Abeita has an extensive background in leadership, program management, event management, reporting, budgeting, volunteer recruitment, fundraising, organizational development, advocacy, community outreach, activism, youth participatory action research (YPAR), participatory action research (PAR), critical race theory (CRT), whiteness studies, intersectionality, trauma informed and neurodiverse pedagogies and practices, Native American Studies (NAS), American Indian education, sociology, QueerCrit, multicultural communication, and ethnic studies. With 19 years as a community organizer, 14 years as an educator, 7 years as a civil rights advocate and over 9 years as a researcher and now a tv show host and creator, they specialize in: civil and human rights issues, warrior activism, student advocacy, and creating institutional policy change. Their background in qualitative research focuses on the counterstories of communities of color, LGBTQIA identity, survivors of trauma, people with disabilities, the ethnic studies classroom before and during Covid and formerly incarcerated youth via the school-to-prison-pipeline. They are accomplished in social media and branding management as a public scholar and public figure in Indian Country with over 33,000 followers on 7 social media platforms. They seek to transform this world through humanizing change.
